Counseling Services

The mission of the Elementary Counselors is to support the learning of all students thorugh a developmental program of services. As student advocates, we recognize the uniqueness and personal worth of each child. We focus on nurturing each student's potential for growth within the context of his or her family, culture and human individuality.

School Counselors Educate

Counselors deliver to each classroom a curriculum integrating the nine standards of the Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model in three domains:

  • Personal/Social Development
    Learning to Live
  • Academic Development
    Learning to Learn
  • Career Development
    Learning to Work

School Counselors Provide Individual & Group Counseling

  • Counselors listen and help students with personal concerns and/or academic issues

School Counselors Meet with Parents and Guardians

  • Counselors help find solutions to achievement-related problems
  • Counselors provide needed information and support regarding child development and concerns

School Counselors Collaborate with Teachers, Pupil Service Professionals and Community Agencies

  • Counselors modify programming to promote a student's highest level of learning success
  • Counselors support a student's personal growth
  • Counselors assist a student with school transitions and other adjustments
The Elementary Counseling Program is based upon fundamental principles and beliefs:
